my awesome day. yesterday.
so, it all started tuesday night. right before bed, I loaded the dishwasher and tried to set the delay start. nothing happened. will tried to mess with it, and nothing, wouldn't turn on, wouldn't start, nothing.
it's probably 6 or 7 years old, so naturally, we thought it had just died. luckily, we have the right connections. so, first thing in the morning we have a new dishwasher. greg (warehouse manager) comes out and spends an hour getting it hooked up and positioned just perfect, and goes to turn it on..............and..............nothing. no lights, no power, nothing. great.
we decide it's an electrical thing and so will calls everywhere in town looking for someone to come out "today" (because it's soooooooo important it can't wait a day.) well, the electrician gets here and spends a little time, but is confused because one part has power and one doesn't. He looks up above the dishwasher and sees the switch and flips it. problem solved. awesome.
my 2-year-old was the whole problem. he was playing on the counter while I was cutting vegetables the night before and was flipping the switch on and off, on and off, on and off, and was trying to see what was going on and off. I saw him doing it, I was right there. will and I never knew what the switch was for and never even thought the problem could be the switch. what's even worse is that the switch was installed upside down so even though the above picture looks like the switch is "off," it's not, it's really "on." awesome.
so, I had to spend money on a new dishwasher when there was NOTHING wrong with the old one.
I had to pay an electrician to come out and flip a switch.
and I had to waste a good part of greg's day unhooking the old dishwasher, hooking up the new dishwasher, unhooking the new dishwasher and hooking up the new dishwasher, again.
talk about an expensive, unnecessary day. awesome.
yep, kids are so expensive...................but totally worth it. totally.
and, here is a picture of the guilty party. everytime I get the camera out he stands by me and says, "cheese, cheese, cheese." until I take his picture. it is so cute.
